Growing up in the church I was taught that the secular world is a vast, engulfing world full of darkness that will... "suck the livin' Jesus right out of your very heart!"... or something of that nature...
As Christians, we fall hard into the idea of being in the world, but not of it, so much so that we tend to forget to be IN THE WORLD. We separate things into two categories "Christian" and "secular". We do our very best to follow Jesus, not the world, and live a good Christian life avoiding that nasty secular lifestyle. But, maybe it's time to rethink what that really entails...
