Description

Somebody stole my IELTS lessons! Over the last couple of years, I have noticed that teachers often take my ideas and introduce them into their own classes. Usually, I don't mind this, but last week I discovered that somebody was copying my content and presenting it as their own. This made me realise that I really need to teach my students how to know the difference between a good IELTS teacher and an average (or even poor) one. And guess what? That is exactly what Nick and I do in this episode! You can find the full episode notes for this episode and a transcript of the conversation at http://podcast.myieltsclassroom.com/

Episode Notes

How can you tell if your teacher is really qualified to teach you IELTS? Is there a qualification that all IELTS teachers need? Are native speakers better teachers than non-native ones? And what do good teachers do in class? Well, you just need to listen to find out!

  1. why you really need to learn from a qualified teacher (and not a past test-taker)
  2. what qualifications good teachers have
  3. the difference between native and non-native teachers
