Interview with NFL Strength Coach Jeff Friday
Friday began his coaching career at Northwestern in 1992 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. It was here where Jeff looked for opportunities to learn from any professional organizations that would talk to him while traveling with the team. Here is where an opportunity to help with some training within the Minnesota Vikings organization caught the eye of players and coaches. A few of years later he received that call.
Friday spent 3 seasons (1996-1999) with the Minnesota Vikings as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He then went to the Baltimore Ravens (1999-2008) as the head strength and conditioning coach.
Friday joined the United Football League in 2009 as the Director of Strength and Conditioning. He served one season and then in 2010 Friday returned to the AFC North to become the assistant strength and conditioning coach of the Cincinnati Bengals during the tenure of head coach Marvin Lewis. He was released in 2019 after the introduction of its new head coach.
Jeff joined the short lived XFL as the strength and conditioning coach of the DC Defenders.
Jeff has just released his new book Built 4 Winning: Crossing the Thin Line Between Good and Great in Sports, Business and Life.
