Description

“The Bronx Brigade” series focuses on telling good stories from the little-seen perspective of an African American youth. As seen in the series Jamal, finds he doesn’t have to lose his youthful outlook in order to grow up. In his community particularly speaking to race or culture, the series adequately represents the Washington D.C. population with the mix of people that actually reside there (more specific to streets and quadrants). Jamal, who now lives in the predominantly African-American community of northeast Washington D.C., also hangs with a ragtag clique of African American friends. Each series of "The Bronx Brigade” explores a moral or ethical dilemma.

Born September 7th, 1991 in Washington D.C., Malcolm Bailey began curating "The Bronx Brigade" series in the year 2014 while finishing up at Howard University. The first episode of the series was inspired by experiences shaped as a youth growing up in his neighborhood. In the year before Malcolm focused on bringing pre-sketches and concepts from the past and his environment into a singular idea. The Bronx Brigade crew emerged to shine light on the mind state of young African-American youth from the inner city in a comic book style format. Later into the decade (of 2010's) Malcolm integrated the 3rd series onto the blockchain making it the first African-American comic book of it's kind to be transacted on Bitcoin's (BTC) Lightning Network. Celebrating the final chapter of the 1st season and theme introducing digital assets in arcade games.
