Claude Monet, the most famous painter of the impressionists was close friends with Georges Clemenceau, the man who led France through the end of World War I shared a mutual love of art and nature. Monet's art gave Clemenceau a French identity to preserve, and Clemenceau's influence immortalized Monet's final work in its own room in the Louvre..
