Our guest is Lt. General Russel Honoré. Many of you might remember General Honoré as Commander of Joint Task Force Katrina---where he received wide acclaim for his stellar handling of recovery efforts throughout the Gulf Coast region---and in particular the city of New Orleans.
General Honoré has held numerous commands across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America over his 37-year Army career---many having to do with disaster preparedness and response.
We wanted to have him on our show to discuss a wide range of topics---from America’s crumbling infrastructure , to COVID-19---and the affects of climate change.
His home state of Louisiana has been hit be two hurricanes in the same region within six weeks---and as we’re recording this podcast---Hurricane Zeta is bearing down on the Louisiana/Mississippi Gulf Coast.
You might be asking yourself what any of this has to do with travel and tourism---we think it will become abundantly clear as you listen to this podcast.
