The Slave Lake fire of 2011 was an awful tragedy that saw countless families thrown into a traumatic situation through no fault of their own. It was also an amazing time of community and a province pulling together to help one of their own. Today's podcast welcomes Jaime Coutts, Slave Lake's Fire Chief from 2011 that had the responsibility of fighting an unwinnable battle. We both reminisce on our respective stories of our experiences from the Slave Lake fire and it was quite the powerful experience to delve back into such an impactful time in both of our lives. I hope this provides a small insight into what it was like for those that were not there and maybe some closure for those who were. Either way I really enjoyed our talk and I think you all will as well!
