Every once and a while a conversation impacts me to the point that it sticks with me for days and sometimes even weeks. This was definitely one of them! Alia and I met doing comedy as we are both new on the scene and excited to get better and we hit it off right away! For weeks leading up to this podcast we chatted a ton and made each other laugh on the daily so I could not have been more excited even when the first 2-3 attempts to record ended up not working. We had so many plans to talk about a million different things and we ended up not getting too many of them. The first part of the conversation you will hear is a lot about comedy and is full of our patented silliness. Then we somehow stumbled into talking about that thing that if I name here I’ll get banished to Instagram jail and no one will see my posts again lol. It was an amazing conversation where two people with different stances were able to stay civil and still have some laughs throughout! I must say the conversation we ended up having is one I’ve tried to have since I first started the podcast and not one person would step up to the plate. On top of that when the conversation did happen organically the guests would want it cut out after (which I will always oblige). I say this because either way you fall on the subject the the bravery to sit in the pocket and try to find middle ground is an amazing accomplishment in itself and I was thoroughly impressed (and not surprised at all) by the fire and passion Alia brings to the things she feels strongly about. I love this conversation and I think you will too. Please go follow Alia @thealialaura and @aliasgotjokes, she is super funny and works hard to make it to a ton of shows while also being a full time university student, a fact that often blows my mind!
Lastly come see us both perform at Alia’s comedy fundraiser at the Rec Room in south common on Nov 10! It’s full of great comedians and you will have a wonderful time!
