Today’s episode is with an old friend from university Cole Delyea, a masters of immunology student that is soon to be completing his final thesis before taking his skills to the workforce! We reconnected a few months back when Cole started his own YouTube channel “Investigate Explore Discover“ where he takes scientific papers that peak his interest and tries to break them down in shorter more plain English while using a bit of humour to lube the rails. We discuss the impetus and importance of democratizing science, as well as the danger of preventing discussion and the deterioration of the fair implementation of the scientific method.
Covid 19 was a very large topic of discussion in this conversation given Cole’s area of study. I was very satisfied that even though we disagreed on multiple points we were able to have a polite discussion and were both able to add to our positions by the pushback we received from the other. We only recorded this on Wednesday of last week but with the recent developments being bravely put forward by Dr Bret Weinstein on his podcast the very next day this conversation is already slightly dated so forgive us if we are off on any info.
