"Wait until you're my age, you'll understand what I'm talking about."
Everyone has heard this uttered to them by many different people, multiple times over the years. I can't recall how many times I've heard this...yet, I'm the one saying it now.
As we age, we are accumulating more and more dysfunctional patterns and muscular imbalances. The less time we spend on addressing them, the more they will start speaking to us.
If I have two parallel lines, it doesn't mater how far I follow them, the distance between them will remain the same. However, if they are only 1 degree apart, I won't see the discrepancy close to the origin, however, the further I move away from the origin, the more apparent that discrepancy becomes. Our joints are the same. This is where discomfort becomes pain. This pain is our "check engine light" informing us something is not quite right.
Understanding recruitment patterns can help us identify when things are working well, as well as when they are not. When we identify less than optimal recruitment patterns, or joint misalignment, we can then address them to help manage, improve, and even alleviate chronic pain.

"I shouldn’t be in the position I am right now."
The odds were stacked against me:
● Poor family on welfare, eldest of 6 kids, parents didn’t work, abusive step-dad, no electricity or running water for a 6 years period of my life
● Caught up with the wrong crowd, stealing, drugs, skipping school
● At 14 years old, I sat on a bus for 3 days with $50 in my pocket, to travel to the next State over West, to begin a new life in the workforce - 2000
14 - 20: I grew up and learned how to become a man through work and rugby
20 - 26: I lived, trained and fought as a professional soldier, at a high level
26 - 32: I became a personal trainer, after failing in my pursuit to become a firefighter
32 - 38: I worked with, and won world titles with some of the best athletes on the planet, as their strength and conditioning coach
38+: The next evolution begins
