People who make an impact on others - a positive one at that. We all have had people in our lives that have done that & hopefully we can be that same difference-making person for others too. Don Munn was one of those people for me and countless others. Don was a student of mine that graduated high school in 2000. He joined the US Army and was killed in action in 2007. Today a group of his friends and family have carried on the tradition of service, difference maker for others, getting along with everyone, etc. - traits that Don had - they are carrying on with having a scholarship in Don's name. They had the 4th annual Munn Fun Run.... a 5K race starting at Lake Shore High School's football stadium & track - running around the surrounding neighborhood - in and around Memorial Park in St. Claire Shores, MI - then finishing back at the high school.
So many great people helping out in Don's memory. Namely, another former student of mine and classmate of Don's - Anna VanderMarliere Kuehnlein - she's the driving force behind putting this 5K race on. She's a living example of what Don was all about - and an example for me and all the other people that she knows. Who can you be that person for? Look for them... they are out there and you have it in you to be that difference maker - just like Don Munn was for us.
