In this episode, we’re joined by Scott Holiday — lead guitarist and founding member of the powerhouse American blues-rock band, Rival Sons.

Formed in Long Beach, California back in 2009, Rival Sons have carved out a reputation as one of the most electrifying rock bands of the modern era. With eight studio albums, one EP, and two Grammy nominations to their name.

They've delivered unforgettable tracks like Pressure and Time, Do Your Worst, and Torture — songs that have found their way into major films and TV shows including Real Steel, Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, and Sons of Anarchy.

They’ve toured the globe with rock royalty — from Guns N’ Roses to The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and even Black Sabbath on their legendary final tour, The End.

In July 2025, Rival Sons were back in the UK — once again supporting Guns N’ Roses and preparing to play the final Black Sabbath concert, Back To The Beginning

What no one could’ve known at the time of this recording; this would be the last public appearance of Ozzy Osbourne, who sadly passed away just weeks later.

A few days before the historic Back To The Beginning Concert, Rival Sons rolled into Bournemouth for a headline show at the O2 Academy. Before they hit the stage, I had the chance to sit down with Scott.

In this interview we talk about life on the road, the friendships he’s built with legends like Tony Iommi and Slash, and the story of how Jay Buchanan came to be the voice of Rival Sons.
