East Central University assistant men’s basketball coach, Cam Robinson, joined me on the show this week! Robinson, a Pine Bluff, Arkansas native, was raised in the city of Little Rock. A passionate and determined young man, Robinson knew he was destined to become a coach at a young age. Robinson talked to me about his relationship with his mother and how important she was to him. Their close-knit relationship and her ability to instill a motivated mindset in him helped him proceed in the next stages of his life. His relationship with Antonio Buchanan was something he also mentioned heavily and how that process has allowed him to reach higher levels.
A graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, Robinson ended up at Arkansas State University as a student manager for the football team. Robinson talked to me about the ins and outs of being a manager, and how much he learned from the experience. After graduating from ASU in 2013, Robinson began his ranks through the coaching world, spending time at places such as Southwest Christian Prep Academy, Osceola High School, Central Baptist College, and Alcorn State. Robinson became a standout coach for the Arkansas Woods/Wings, which is the top AAU team in the state of Arkansas. Now at East Central University for his second year as an assistant coach, his grit and determination will allow Robinson to reach his dream of one day becoming a head coach. Robinson told me he wants others to know that he left everything he had on the court. He’s a risk-taker and a family man. Thank you for the continued support! God bless!
