Former professional basketball player, Vincent Hunter, joined me on the show this week. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Hunter embraced being from Arkansas. Devoted to basketball since childhood, Hunter talked about playing basketball with everyone around his neighborhood at all times. Hunter talked to me about his parents and how significance the advice that was given to him helped him stay on the right path, and now be a father and husband. One of the things his parents taught him was to “never quit”, which is something he uses everyday.

Quickly become a top prospect through the AAU contribution and his career at J.A. Fair, Hunter decided to stay home and commit to Stan Heath and the University of Arkansas. Quickly noticing how much improvement his game needed to play up to level at the SEC, Hunter spent almost every day in the gym maintaining his game. Spending his entire professional career overseas, Hunter picked up a lot about himself and his game while in Europe. Very devoted about respecting others, he valued patience and communication while overseas.

A author of a book, Jr. and His Basketball Dreams (https://www.amazon.com/JR-BASKETBALL-DREAMS-Vincent-Hunter/dp/B08WJTQ198), Hunter published and wrote his own children’s book, replaying his entire life journey through basketball. Now working on entrepreneurship, teaching, and coaching, Hunter has revitalized his life tremendously after basketball. He left me with this, “Don’t quit at whatever you do. Life is hard, but I’ve always remembered something Allen Iverson said: ‘Only the strong survive,’ and that kept me goin’”.

Apologies for the video format, thank you for everything! Enjoy the episode, God bless.
