It has been about 10 months since the first reported case of COVID-19 hit the United States. In June of 2020, Pivot & Bloom was launched with the first episode "The Syndemic", discussing the intersection between COVID-19, racial health disparities/injustices, and chronic disease. This episode is a follow up on "The Syndemic", and a call to action. Chronic disease is only getting worse and in combination with COVID-19, is claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Within this statistic lies the sobering reality that Blacks are 2-3 times more likely to lose their lives. It is imperative that we start to think about the future and how we will all care for our bodies and minds going forward.
