Frances reads 7 letters from the Machell Cox family Budget, from August 1907.

"Dear Budgeteers" was the title Aldwyn used for his letters to his siblings.

Cuthbert describes a four day march from Berkhamsted to Aldershot with the schoolboys from the Officer Training Corps, including fascinating details about camp activities.

Arthur describes the month-long extended family holiday in Studland, Dorset, including a ginger-beer bottle duel between himself and Neville.

Dorothy writes from Terrington and Aldwyn’s letter describes his recovery from Typhoid fever, including what he ate and the amount of hair he grew during the 7 weeks of his illness.

There are three letters from Wilfred in this Budget, giving us an insight into the long-ago disappeared life of a frontiersman in rural Canada.
