The media just LOVES to glorify the perfect immigrant, but the truth is, while those grass to grace stories are great, there should be room for all immigrants to thrive. Thrive without having to live up to the accomplishments of the 'ideal immigrant.'
In this episode, I share my perspective on the pressure to be a perfect immigrant, one that has it all together. I talk about:
1. I share and contrast two different immigrant profiles and how they'd be perceived
2. The societal pressure to be the perfect immigrant
3. Pressure from families to make the sacrifices of our parents 'worth it.'
