Welcome back to the Bayside Bubble!
We hope everyone had a relaxing and happy Christmas and ready to welcome in 2021.
Today we are so excited to continue engaging in conversation about what makes our community the vibrant, wonderful place that it is.
On today’s show Maree gets the chance to speak with John Locco, the founder of Melbourne’s famous Brighton Icebergers open water swimming club.
Raised in Brighton and braving the icy waters of Brighton since 1973, he had a formidable career as teacher and as a local Brighton Councillor. Elected as the Mayor of Brighton in 1992/1993, he was instrumental in preventing the closure and ensuring the preservation of the Middle Brighton Baths.
Maree discovers his passion and love of the bay and his dedication and commitment as an Iceberger.
