Description

It’s that time again. Time for another Bayside Bubble interview, and do we have a good one for you today!

Maree and Kate invite newly re-elected Mayor of Bayside, Councillor Laurence ‘Laurie’ Evans into the studio for a chat about our brilliant community.

We hear about the many changes to Bayside and local government over the years and how Cr Evans discovered an interest in politics after a career in architecture.

Kate and Cr Evans share their love for citizenship ceremonies and we hear about the touching moment when Laurie anointed his own daughter-in-law at a local ceremony.

We discuss the micro and macro issues that local government gets to affect change in, ranging from the addition of a clock in Sandringham to the impact of climate change.

Cr Evan asks us what issues are important to our families and talks about the policies that he is passionate about as well as what an inspiration it is to see the youth of today so enthusiastic to continue the work on environmental conservation in Bayside.
