This week we talk to Gordon 'Gordo' Syme. Gordo is as obsessed with sharing his knowledge about sailing as he is with sailing itself.
Having sailed professionally, raced and cruised all his life, Gordo uses his wealth of knowledge to teach and encourage students of all ages.
Since Yachtmaster was established in 1988, Gordo has built a team of professionals who have shared their love of sailing with over 5,000 students. Gordo and his team have trained beginners, charterers, world cruisers, yacht racers, Olympians, World Champions, Ocean Racers, Professional Sailors as well as a Volvo Ocean Racing Team in Portugal. He puts the same dedication into all his students whether beginners or world champions. He has also been employed by Australian Sailing to teach instructor courses all around Australia and New Zealand for SSSC, keel boats and dinghies.
