On today’s episode we are joined by the owner of one of our favourite coffee spots, Colonel Son. Rishi Chawdhury has run the business with the help of his wife since taking it over in 2014 and has become a prominent face in the community.
We hear about the journey Rishi undertook from studying pharmacy in a Western city of India, to the business owner in Bayside that he is today.
Rishi retells the happy story of how he and his wife met through an arranged marriage and we discuss the difficult circumstances that have geographically separated his family due to worldwide covid restrictions.
We discuss the decision Rishi made to remain open for takeaways over lockdown last year and the rare opportunity that it served the community to leave the house and experience some form of human interaction.
