Coach Ruiz has been a coach for 11 years where he was first the Head Boys Basketball coach at Amherst High School. He then became the 1st Assistant at Waco Robinson where he was a part of their Regional Quarterfinals run, and then took over the program the next two years. Currently he is the 1st Assistant at Austin Vandegrift where he has been the assistant for the past 4 years helping the Vipers to multiple playoff appearances, with most recently a Bi-District championship this past year.
