Description

Local newsrooms are dying all across America - and in South Florida, both major daily newspapers are under the control of hedge funds. But a new movement of Independent, nonprofit journalism is taking root. Our guest is Jonathan Kealing from the Institute for Nonprofit News which has welcomed the Key Biscayne Independent into membership.
Is nonprofit news the future?

In our second segment, we talk to a local blogger, Rafal Momeñe Erhardt from the Tropical Rag. We ask what happened when he opined about some of Key Biscayne's empanadas and the problem with WhatsApp chats on the "Island Paradise."  And we also ask him what's up with the 2021 Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade -- will it be back?

And we eat some empanadas, of course.
