During the height of the spiritualism movement led by the Fox Sisters, a reverend and doctor Eliakim Phelps moved his family to a new home in Stratford, Connecticut. After being intrigued by the idea of talking to the dead through seances, Reverend Phelps and a friend decided to give it a try. The act opened the door to the other side, allowing spirits to inhabit his home and target his children.
