To give a little more context to this conversation, Brian and I talked shortly after a client engagement where several members of the team we were working with had an adverse reaction to their StrengthsFinder Theme names. They were resistant to embracing those names, because, well, many of them had preconceived notions about what they meant. It caused our team to pause and address the power, both positive and negative, that those Theme names can have on individuals. Brian and I talk about how the work we do helps individuals go from initial, sometimes cynical, understandings of five names on a page, to forming a deeper relational connection with what those words say about us, in the past, present or future context.
