“Most people know that the country was stolen from the Indians.
They just don't know the details.
That general notion is something that we all have.
Some of us push it away.
It’s sort of common knowledge, if you will. 
There were once a lot of Indians and white men came and pushed them away.

One of the things that should happen...
the richness of the cultures has to ultimately be revealed and taught.
There were so many different groups here and a lot of them were different.
The Iroquois had a structure of government.
They were here in the NY area.
[The structure of] the League of the Iroquois became the foundation of the constitution of our government structure.
Marx read this book by Lewis Henry Morgan called the League of the Iroquois, and it impressed himself so much that he rethought a lot of his stuff about history."
