“It’s about how real life always ends up surprising us. You really never know what’s going to happen.”
“Abraham had two sons - one was Isaac...he also had another son, Ismael by a slave named Hagar. The wife was jealous and made him drive Hagar and this boy out of the camp. They wandered through the desert until they ran out of water. She put the kid down because she doesn't want to watch [the boy] die.
And God comes and speaks with her and says 'Hagar, I’m going to take care of you. And this kid, I heard him crying, you will save him and he will be a father of a great nation.'
And she turns to look at the kid and there is a well right there and they are saved. Ismael goes on to become this great historical figure."
“Life is like that sometimes - you think it’s all going to come crashing down around you and then you...just...say...ok let me try ONE more thing. Let me try to get the wheels turning again and then, it picks up.”
