There was a lot of confusion in the Corinthian church about the most important facet of Christianity, namely resurrection. That is to say, the resurrection of Jesus (a past event) and the resurrection of all believers (a future event). Paul seeks to shed light on, not only the fact of the resurrection, but also a lot of related questions.
