Krystal Kenney fell in love with Paris as a teenager after visiting as part of a school trip. Living in the United States at the time, she dreamed of moving internationally and several years later she made it happen. She now lives in the city of light: Paris, France where she explores her creative talents in many different ways.
She’s a professional photographer who specializes in capturing candid moments and special memories for locals and visitors to Paris. And when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, meaning no one was taking vacations or holding special events that would benefit from her talents as a photographer, what did she do? She got creative!
Krystal launched a podcast called La Vie Creative, where she shines a light on the stories of creative people, past and present, from Paris as well as other spots in France. She even teamed up with another storyteller, Claudine Hemingway, to add even more incredible stories to the show.
Most recently she wrote and released her book, a memoir, called Paris, A Life Less Ordinary.
On this episode, host Angela de Burger chats with Krystal about the creative inspiration she draws from Paris, as well as from photographing people celebrating engagements, weddings and birthdays. Krystal offers insights into how she developed her creative style and the process of writing her new book. She also shares lots of inside info about how her podcast came to be, and the benefits of collaborating on creative projects.
