This, the third in our series of podcasts looking at anti-racism in speech and language therapy, centres on the Anti-racism survey report Feb 2023 which wasresearched and written by SLT student and EDI rep at Reading University, Chloe Nkomo.
Chloe talks about the key takeaways from her report. She is joined by Dorett Davis, one of the founders of the network group 'SLTs of Colour' and RCSLT chair Dr Sean Pert. The group discusses:
- Key findings from the report.
- Lessons learned, but what still needs to happen.
- What can each of us do about it?
- How to manage uncomfortable conversations.
- How to challenge racist behaviour, or practices that disadvantage minoritised groups.
