For many expat families, stuff + moving = stress. Families often have weight limits or financial restrictions on how much they can move. And at the same time they have lots of items that are important to them and may tell a story about their lives. This can create some stress leading up to a move about how to organize and prepare for the move. My guest today is an organization and parenting expert. She shares some tools for how to approach dealing with stuff on both sides of a move. She’ll also share some helpful tools for staying organized and using organization to strengthen your mothering.
Transitions are often one of the most stressful parts of expat life. This month the podcast is offering tools to help families in these transitions. We just finished a 3-part podcast series on culture shock and repatriation, starting with this episode, we are moving on to a two- part series on how to deal with stuff abroad, and we’ll also have an episode on how to support kids transitioning to new schools.
