Moving and change are a hallmark of expat life. There are a lot of exciting things that accompany a move, but also some difficult emotions and stressors as well. Expat moms are often the emotional anchor point for the family while also being the lead logistics coordinator for closing out the old life and starting a new one. This is a huge job.
Understanding what happens to the brain during a move, and how to navigate the difficult emotions that accompany a move can help you feel more peace and less overwhelm during the process.
I share an experience I had in Kenya when I was asked to move unexpectedly; I share some of the lessons I learned from that experience. I’ll also share some mindset shifts that can help you be the mom you want to be during a transition time and give you lots of practical ideas about how to apply these mindset shifts right away.
