In this episode, the Laurens discuss dialect vs accent and the impact of it on a speech/language evaluation. The field of speech-language pathology uses African American English (AAE) as a term to describe what most people call Ebonics. This conversation is necessary to have as AAE affects communication in a variety of areas such as education, the judicial system, healthcare, and most importantly communication disorders.
