In this episode we, Astrid Ferguson and Alexandra Hodge, had the opportunity of interviewing Christine Isley-Farmer the author of Finding My Yip. A children's chapter book that focuses deeply on a puppy named boomer overcoming his inability to yip like his sister or mother. This is the first book in her new series, Finding My Yip (March 2, 2021, Wandering in the Words Press). The power of stories and music’s healing qualities weave their way through the book, which also features a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as the narrator. Boomer and his new friend Chloe seek to develop confidence, make friends, and strengthen their bond, all while challenging their fears.
Christine wrote this story after developing a long career in music, singing opera and owning three cavaliers. She feels these stories are needed and necessary to help many children with speech impediments and any inabilities, develop confidence in their voice. She drops some gems as a seasoned person who has developed a career doing what she loves. Listen to us speak with Christine Isley-Farmer and get inspired to start doing what you love for a living.
