Description

The First Transcontinental Railroad was truly a revolutionary project that created new towns, made transportation easier, and helped define America during and after the Civil War. But within such a gargantuan government-supported project, there were bound to be some odd things about it. We explore some of the oddities of the First Transcontinental Railroad and how a major scandal derailed the careers of U.S. representatives.
