On this episode of the podcast I have the pleasure of FINALLY sitting down (in my truck btw) with one of my very best friends Mrs. Lauren. Also known as LaurenFire2232 on her social media profile TikTok.
Lauren is a career Wildland Firefighter, having over 10 years in the profession. We talk about the job and some of the lacking there is for help with mental health issues. She does NOT shy away from her opinion and telling it like she sees it. We discuss what can be changed and how she can start making that change happen.
Coming from a pretty traumatic childhood, Lauren tells her story of what it was like being the victim of Munchausen's syndrome, brought on by her mother. Sharing the details of how it affected her as a child and how she has overcome the traumatic experience of her childhood.
Sharing her past and opening up about these issues has been a fight with herself to do, but she did it. All in hopes that her story, and bringing light to situations surrounding mental health within the realm of Wildland Firefighting will help others start their conversation.
WMUF Family please help me welcome Lauren, apparently she's intimidating.
