It was Mary Mallon, better known as “Typhoid Mary. ” This is one of the most fascinating in modern medical history. Clare Sheridan interviewed Mary Beth Keane of Pearl River. Keane is the author of Fever,  an ambitious retelling of the forgotten life of a compelling, dramatic, vexing, sympathetic, uncompromising, and unforgettable heroine.  The New York Times has called Fever "a fine novel" and a "tender, detailed portrayal.”
