Title: From Addiction to Recovery - with Jenny Lam.

QUOTE: Min. 3:30 I was sexually abused when I was eight and from there onwards my life just became kind of worse and worse and it wasn’t something I knew at the time it was getting worse.

QUOTE: Min 7:45 The interesting part is going to a girl’s hostel in Hong Kong that was the place I learned to smoke marijuana. That is where I learned to discover ketamine, where I discovered ecstasy, where I discovered crystal meth actually. Crystal meth stayed with me for a whole year.

QUOTE: Min 14:11 I fell in love when I was 17 somehow my first real boyfriend and we got married after 4 months. I had a child right after getting married. I was only 19 with my son and by that time when I had my son I never ever actually drank and that was the first time I started drinking.

QUOTE: Min 16:28 I felt more and more suicidal again. I remember so well there was a moment that there’s something really wrong with me. Everything I’m doing is wrong.

QUOTE: 38:42 This experience has cost me no money, no nothing and I am so tremendously grateful and I will always be grateful for that first person that told me about the “hole in the soul”, that second person who asked me was I safe, that third person that welcomed me, that other person who was holding my hand tightly when I was feeling crumbling. I am so grateful for these people and I wanna be there for other people and I have been there….

Jenny shares her roller coaster journey through life. A story about the downward spiral into addiction and the recovery aided by some special people. A story of how her unstable childhood and adolescence impacted her life and her relationships. A teenage mum, a failed marriage, the slippery slope that led her into becoming an alcoholic. It is a story about the impossible to possible. Jenny had a second chance in life and she seized the opportunity to turn everything around and to become the woman she is today. A successful, motivated, inspiring woman. Jenny has made it her mission to empower women. An abstract artist, Jenny expresses her feelings through her art. She is also a strong advocate of living a healthy life and continues to work in women’s wellness.

Jenny is looking to connect with woman’s charities to donate her artwork and wants to offer her services to organisations catering to women’s physical and mental health.
