Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a colt, royally yet humbly, to the rejoicing of his followers, but provoking opposition from the Jewish religious leaders.
While people may have been praising Jesus and hailing Him as King, the underlying motive and expectation were not in line with God’s plan. These very same people that honored Him were a part of the mob that would later in the week cry for His death.
