Dr. Sean Cunningham is the Chair of the Department of History at Texas Tech University. He has recently published a book Bootstrap Liberalism: Texas Political Culture in the Age of FDR (University Press of Kansas, 2022) as well as specializing teaching in the history of modern American political culture. We discuss the concepts of relevance for faith in Christ in today's world, and the possibilities of civil discussion in higher education.
