THE 25TH HOUR reviews the week of October 11-17, 2020 in news and politics, covering NYC to DC. Cuomo and De Blasio continue to battle with increasing coronavirus numbers in the State and City, respectively, and while the temperature between the two leaders has gone down somewhat, they both face challenges. The Governor had to justify the release of his new book and de Blasio is trying to right the ship with parents and business leaders confused about closures in their zip codes. Meanwhile, President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden had separate town halls after the 2nd debate was cancelled, with the differences between the two men on stark display - the thing is, at this point, millions of people have already voted and the town halls would not move the needle either which way. The Barrett hearings concluded this week, with a scheduled vote for the hearing to come out of committee set for October 22nd, the date of the third Presidential debate. The next Supreme Court session has begun, with the stakes for our country feeling like they have never been higher.
