Description

β€œThe system is broken, not us. Why should we change ourselves? You cannot fix physician burnout with meditation and yoga. Until the system is fixed, nothing will change. There is no point in telling us to change ourselves.”
Time and time again, we rail at the system. How awful it is that as women physicians we face gender inequity, bias, racism and a whole multitude of problems. And we wait for the system to change, not considering the fact that we are part of the system.

In this episode I show you through my own journey of changing some of the ways I acted and reacted how I could effect some change in my surroundings.Β

By choosing to change in a positive way, I could turn a potentially damaging situation that had previously frustrated and angered me into a learning experience that changed my relationships at work.

Choosing to change was not a sign of weakness. Instead, choosing to recognize where I could improve and taking the steps to do so, helped me become a better physician and leader.
