When you're told "you are too sweet to be a cardiologist, try another fellowship,” you can do one of two things: give up and apply for another fellowship, or you can decide to pursue your heart anyway.
As an immigrant and a woman physician, moreover one coming from a culture which is not used to speaking up, I am fully aware of all the struggles we go through to rise in our career.
To do that and achieve leadership positions in the field of cardiology, a traditionally male-dominated field, is not easy.
