Welcome to Season 2 of The Playful Psychologist! This season will include some interviews with other health professionals, as well as information requested by you guys via my social media platforms!
This week’s episode focuses on Imposter Syndrome. Impostor syndrome is a psychological pattern in which individuals doubt their skills, talents or accomplishments and has a persistent internalised fear of being exposed as a "fraud". in other words, it’s the idea that you've only succeeded in your career/schooling due to luck, and not because of your talent or qualifications.
In this episode I explore:
- What imposter syndrome is
- Who it affects
- Why it occurs
- How it differs from ‘nervousness’
- Negative automatic thoughts associated with imposter syndrome
- Ways that you can support yourself if you are experiencing imposter syndrome
- ‘Real’ Self-Care and how that differs from ‘a face mask in the bath.’
At the end of the episode, you’ll hear me talk about my new initiative, ‘Boost a Biz,’ which is all about supporting small businesses. To learn more, visit the following link: https://www.theplayfulpsychologist.com/boost-a-biz
