Join us as we look as ways to defeat your past. We’re going to focus more on how to stop allowing your past to control you, your future, and your victory. You know all of us have experienced hurt during our past. Many times we allow the things which impacted our lives to become closer than what they appear in our rear side view mirror.
Where to you start?
a) Studying God’s word provides the nutrients we need to feed our soul.
b) Prayer is our communication line. Talking with God and humbling ourselves, so that we can hear him when he speaks to us. The more pray, meditate on his word and give praise. Listen with expectation. God hears your prayers.
Matthew 5:6 (KJV)
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Psalm 63:1-8 (KJV)
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:When I remember thee upon my bed and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me
c) Allow God to work in you. Remember Jesus was a carpenter, he loves working on the sick and those who are broken. There is nothing that God can not fix. We have not cause, we did not ask God.
James 4:2 (ERV)
You want things, but you don’t get them. So you kill and are jealous of others. But you still cannot get what you want. So you argue and fight. You don’t get what you want because you don’t ask God.
1 Corinthians 2:9 (ESV)
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
d) Growing in God’s word and walking with him enables us to handle the bumps in the road and the hardships in which it brings. Its so much easier to breath with God in our life taking control than it is without him.
Proverbs 18:21 (ERV)
The tongue can speak words that bring life or death. Those who love to talk must be ready to accept what it brings.
We don’t always understand what God is doing in our circumstances, but we can rest assure he is working thing out for our good. Please remember (Roman 8:28).
