I Will Serve The Lord

Romans 6:15-23

Introduction:

1️⃣The choice is yours,on who you will serve

Joshua 24:14-15 (CWSB)

14 Now therefore fear -- the Lord, and serve -- him in sincerity and in truth: and put away -- the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye -- the Lord.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve -- the Lord, choose you this day -- whom ye will serve; whether -- the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or -- the gods of the Amorites, in whose land -- ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve -- the Lord.

➡️subordinate (title) servant — noun. a title of humility for someone in a position of lower authority or stature; whether in a relationship between two people or between a person and God.

📜Romans 6:15-23 (CWSB)

Title: “I will Serve The Lord”

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit -- had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Conclusion:

Title: “I will Serve The Lord”

📍Christian freedom carries with it substantial responsibility to use that freedom as God intended and as God, through the Spirit, directs and empowers. The absence of law does not mean the absence of consequences or accountability before the One who searches our inmost intentions and thoughts.

Galatians 6:7-8 (CWSB)

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

📍Walk by faith not by sight

Hebrews 11:1 (CWSB)

“By Faith”

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Romans 10:17 (CWSB)

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

📍Don’t live to just be Blessed, live to be a Blessing.

Job 42:10 (NIV)

10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.

Luke 22:31-32 (KJV)

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, th
