Description

In this episode we Wadeouthere with Norm Maktima from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Norm grew up fly fishing on his local river after school and in the summers.  At seventeen his father signed him up for an outfitter program in Montana, on the Clark Fork River.  When he came back, he had a job at the local fly shop, and it didn’t take long for him to start guiding and competing in fly fishing.

In part one of our discussion, Norm describes how his indigenous heritage binds him to the land and to fly fishing, the importance of mindfulness, and the specific observations he makes that help him bring more trout to the net.
