Welcome and Introductions to the 2017 UsAgainstAlzheimer's Disparities Symposium: Diversifying the Race for a Cure and Care by Jason Resendez, Executive Director, LatinosAgainstAlzheimer’s Network and Coalition and Stephanie Monroe, Executive Director, AfricanAmericansAgainstAlzheimer’s Network
The Diversifying the Race for a Cure Symposium increased awareness, understanding and action related to Alzheimer’s disease among communities of color. This full-day program brought together disparities-focused health, policy and minority community stakeholders with caregivers, researchers and industry leaders to address the growing impact of Alzheimer’s on communities of color. Attendees contributed to the development of brain health promotion strategies, catalyzed research collaborations, and advanced patient and community-centered solutions to our nation’s Alzheimer’s crisis.
