People try and fix problems that aren't actually the root cause of their pain.
This mainly happens because there isn't a strong understanding of what the root cause of the problem is so we end up just fixing secondary problems that will just sprout up again.
If you want to really fix what's going on instead of putting a bandaid on it, you need to use the 5 Why Method to get a strong understanding of what the root cause of the problem is so you can address it.
Why should you care? How does this have anything to do with money?
Because most of our spending habits and investing problems are actually driven by our behavior. When you understand the emotional reasons behind going shopping, buying crypto or getting a new car, you will then be able to control those impulses more often.
It's worth noting this method applies to every problem from "my marriage failing" to "the sales department isn't hitting quota".
It's a powerful diagnostic tool when used correctly.
