For this week's special Valentine's episode, we are looking at Heartless by Marissa Meyer! Drew and Cassie are joined by Bethanie A. Finger from Prince Kai Fan Pod, the Marissa Meyer Book Club Podcast to discuss this 2016 YA prequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Heartless follows Catherine, a young woman who wants to open the finest bakery in Wonderland, but is being held back by her duty to her family as well as an impending -and unwanted - engagement to the King of Hearts. When Cath encounters Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker, she feels the pull of true attraction for the first time in her life. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.
